The 383 installled

This set of pages takes you through the installation of a Chevy 350 cid V-8 "Stroker" (otherwise known as a "383") into The Beast. The 383 was built by BRE, Arizona. BRE dyno'd their "383" at 432 hp and 472 ft-lbs of torque. With the addition of the Airflow Research aluminum heads the output is an estimated 470 hp and 500 ft-lbs of torque. This means Vipers for desert!

The following pages show the car without engine, the running of the new remote oil lines, the frame modifications required for the Tremec 5 spd (.069 overdrive) transmission, the front suspension, and the V-8 motor mounts.

Note that it might take some time to load some of the images that have been left intentionally large for those who want to study the installation in better resolution.
